VSQ Update
Well, the time is finally here. It is time for me to travel to the Spring Quilt Market. This year it is being held in Kansas City. I arrive on Thursday and the fun and hard work begins. While the Market officially starts on Friday, there are some classes and Sample Spree to attend. This gives me a preview of what Market may have to offer. On Friday, the doors open and for the next three days, it is sensory overload. There are hundreds and hundreds of vendors. These include all the fabric companies, lots of pattern and book companies. Some are new and some are favored friends. I especially look forward to seeing the new gadgets and gizmos.
I usually spend the first day just wandering, making notes and reviewing brochures and samples. I often look for new ways of doing things. I keep an eye out for the new trends in colors, styles, and combinations. The fabrics I will be looking at will not be in the shop for 4-6 months. I spend most of Saturday and Sunday placing orders and buying only the fun stuff. At least it is what I think is fun.
The days are long. The walking is non-stop. But the fun of Market is something I look forward to each year.
